Journey Description

CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) is an evidence-based program designed to strengthen resilience, emotional balance, and authentic compassion for oneself and others. Rooted in both contemplative traditions and modern psychology, CBCT® has been shown in research to reduce stress, depression, loneliness, and PTSD symptoms while increasing empathy, self-compassion, hopefulness, and overall wellbeing. This is an eight-weeks course, which includes one 60-minutes session per week. Each weekly session is structured into eight interconnected modules, each building upon the last to nurture the inner conditions for compassion: 1. Connecting to Nurturance – Cultivating feelings of safety and support. 2. Developing Attention – Training stability and clarity of focus. 3. Enhancing Self-Awareness – Building non-judgmental awareness of thoughts and emotions. 4. Cultivating Self-Compassion I – Accepting our shared human vulnerabilities. 5. Cultivating Self-Compassion II – Finding meaning and growth in challenges. 6. Expanding Concern for Others – Broadening our circle of care and reducing biases. 7. Deepening Gratitude & Tenderness – Recognizing interdependence and cultivating appreciation. 8. Harnessing Compassion – Pairing compassion with wisdom for meaningful action. Just as a garden flourishes when nurtured, compassion grows when the right conditions are present. CBCT® provides practical tools and guided reflections to cultivate these conditions, helping participants create lasting transformation in how they relate to themselves, others, and the world. Whether you are seeking greater emotional resilience, relief from burnout, or a deeper sense of connection, this course offers a structured and research-backed path to cultivating compassion as a way of life.
